China Tailor Journeys is a house of ten tailors based in Chengdu — designing and hosting private journeys through the country we live in.
When you compare us — and you should — compare us against the same public yardsticks you already trust: the review platforms, the travel press, the industry bodies. Our own standard is published in writing precisely so that comparison is possible.

China Tailor Journeys began with a simple observation: most itineraries are written by people who have never walked them. We took the opposite starting point — every journey in our catalogue has been walked, timed and re-walked by the tailor whose name sits on it.
The name is the method. A tailor measures before cutting. So do we — pace, curiosity, appetites, the slowest traveller in the party — and only then do we cut: which gate opens first, which table is worth the detour, which day should hold nothing at all.
China Tailor Journeys is based in Chengdu, Sichuan and run by a licensed on-the-ground team with 20+ years of travel experience. Everyone who designs your journey lives in China. Permits, museum openings, road seasons, the restaurants that answer — our knowledge is not researched. It is lived.
WhatsApp reaches your tailor directly — no call centres, no relay, no waiting for a travel agency to open.
Your first proposal is drafted around what you told us — interests, pace, appetite — not a template with your name pasted on.
Permits, drivers, timed tickets, tables: coordination is our craft, so your only task is the journey itself.
When the ground shifts — weather, closures, a tired child — your tailor is already re-booking while others are still being told.

Scholar-grade guides, certified in their fields — and the driver and guide are always two people, so attention is never divided.
Late-model 7–9 seat business cabins, driven by non-smoking professional drivers. No 30-seat coaches, ever.
A benchmark table in every ground we cover — a master's kitchen in Chengdu, a courtyard dinner in Beijing, a fishing family's lunch on the Li River.
Not touristy. Market mornings before the coaches arrive, kitchens without English menus, schedules that belong to locals.
Practice, don't photograph. A wok, a loom, a tea whisk — the culture is understood by doing it, not watching it.
The story behind the sight — told by the people who live it, in your language, at the hour the light is right.
We claim no honours we have not earned. What we publish instead is what we commit to: eight all-inclusive clauses, six published dimensions, prices that are complete. Judged by what is written — never by what is claimed.
No commitment, no forms longer than three minutes. A named tailor replies within 12 hours.
